Set in the nineteenth century, Wedlock of the Gods is about two ill-fated lovers, Ogwoma and Uloko, who defy tradition in order to consummate their love for each other. Ogwoma is forced to marry an older and wealthier suitor, Adigwu, in order to secure a bride wealth to obtain medicine for her sick brother.
