I highly recommend this beautifully illustrated, and compelling story for teens. About Allison Breaking who takes the job to write the memoirs of the talking cat, Burma, who recounts the tales of his previous 8 lives and how he's managed to alter the course of history since antiquity. Despite the mini history lesson it is completely engaging. You learn about his past, as well as contemplate his intentions in this life. The ending is really smart -- and, you are left wondering if this was right decision... "What would you do?" This comic has been nominated for an Eisner award in the kids (8-12) category, which is a confusing mistake. Not the nomination... just the category. This isn't a kids comic: features references to drugs, sex, murder, and debauchery; it includes some nudity and profanity; it is quite dialogue heavy; and the characters are young professionals (not children). I believe this would be more appropriate and interesting to teens.
