The novel, “The Lost Hero” by Rick Riordan is a suspense ridden and action-filled narrative. It is written from the perspective of three characters, Jason, Piper, and Leo. This aspect makes the book very intriguing as it creates dramatic irony and it shows various point of views for the scenes. In addition, the connection to Greek mythology also incorporates more aspects that make the novel more interesting. At first, the book starts off very slow as the reader doesn’t necessarily understand what's going on. But as moments pass, the book delivers some exciting battles and scenarios. The aspect of mystery adds another level of suspense that compels the reader to continue reading. Multiple conflicts rise throughout the story that draw attention away from the main conflict, but discovering how they are dealt with is truly interesting. Also, the messages conveyed through the story are very direct and enforcing because the novel shows the importance of teamwork and perseverance. The writers use of imagery allows the reader to create pictures and generate feelings about the scenes. This feature makes the reader want to continue reading to obtain more information. It is also a great start to the series and is intertwined with the “Percy Jackson” series. This novel is a good read for those seeking a thrilling and dramatic story that's driven by suspense and unusual adventures.
