This was a great read. I was lucky enough to find several hours in a row during which I read three-quarters of the book in one setting. Later that night I was watching the news and wondered why there was no mention of the missing baby, only to remind myself that the missing baby was really a fictional baby from this novel. That's the mark of a great read. This isn't great literature, but it's suspenseful; the characters are well thought out, and the plot is believable. This was my first Lippman novel, but I'll be looking for others.
