Based on the best-selling novel by Garth Stein, this is a heartfelt tale narrated by a witty and philosophical dog named Enzo. Through his bond with his owner Denny, an aspiring Formula One racecar driver, Enzo has gained tremendous insight into the human condition and understands that the techniques needed on the racetrack can also be used to successfully navigate the journey of life. The film follows Denny and the loves of his life, his wife, Eve, their daughter Zoe, and his best friend, Enzo.

Witness the trials and tribulations of a young family through the eyes of their family pet, a Golden Retriever with a wise man's soul. Fable-like theme in relating the message "keep trying and do not be afraid of losing" in navigating life’s ordeals.

Too many mentions and visuals of bodily functions, ridiculous narrator (what is with this stupid trend of dogs narrating movies), and just plain depressing. Apparently I watched a different movie because I hated this one. Not uplifting or encouraging at all. Just a really bad movie. I'm SO glad I didn't pay money to see it. SO disappointed because I had such high hopes.

I had read the book years ago and remembered really enjoying the book. I remembered the basics but not the specifics so it was great to watch the movie and really be able to enjoy it and not compare it to the book. Another must for dog lovers but have the tissues ready!!!

Tonight I watched the Golden Globes. This movie wasn't nominated and won't likely win any Oscars. But, it is the BEST movie I've watched in a very long time.

This comes from an old lady who binge watched Hallmark and Lifetime holiday movies.

I wanted to see this movie because NASCAR champ Rusty Wallace is my cousin. But, i fell in love with the dog and the unconditional love we receive from our furry friends. I'm not a Garth Stein fan, but this is a beautiful story. Spoiler alert: you'll need tissues.

this movie was so good. it is almost exactly like the book it was based off of (also called racing in the rain). this movie is so emotional and will definitely make you cry. totally recommend it.
