Add a CommentThis film is a delight. Some may think it’s slow but I love the understated British humor.
I couldn't get into this movie.
A very unique and fun movie. As a Beatles fan, I loved the rendition of some of their most beloved songs.
Enjoyable movie for the whole family. (12/15 yr olds both enjoyed it.) Great music, interesting premise. Great characters. Satisfying resolution. Well done!
Quite funny, some really great lines ('living outside the traditional concept of time.')
Be sure to check out the alternate ending.
Yesterday - COMEDY. Very fun, enjoyable movie. Imagine the world where the Beatles never existed. And a struggling song writer who needed to make hits to survive... hmmmm.
How different would the world have been if The Beatles never existed? Jack, an aspiring singer/songwriter in England, finds out when his world is turned upside down. Since he is the only person in the world (he thinks) who remembers them after a worldwide blackout, he seizes the opportunity to become famous. Great music, good acting, and a nice storyline make for a couple of hours of viewing enjoyment.
Overall this was a fun, entertaining film. A strange cosmic event takes place and now some things are missing from the world, like the music of the Beatles. But one man remembers! What should he do? The music is sensational. This movie makes you fall in love with and appreciate their music all over again. There is also a sweet, entertaining love story plot. It's a fun and charming film. But it also felt like it could have been so much more. The movie never really explores the phenomenon that it sets up. It's like the film makers came up with an amazing, original concept but then didn't really know what to do with it. It just felt like there were a lot of ideas that were never developed, so in the end the film felt kind of unfinished and a little unsatisfactory. What was there was good, but I wish in the end the film had a bit more substance.
Good movie. Felt a little slow moving at times, but good.
Really enjoyed the whole thing.
This movie answers the question, "What would happen if no one knew who the Beatles were, or any of their music?" The movie isn't as great as the music, but it was a nice escape from trying times. I was struck when the main character was singing/screaming the song "Help!" because he needs so much help by that point. It ended in (what seems to be) the only satisfying way it could, because all you need is love
