So this book series has 3 books so far, The second book in this series is called Dandelion Fire and the third one is called The Chestnut King. I loved this book and I hope you do too! 3 and half stars

This is one of my favorite books. A boy named Henry York goes to live with his aunt, uncle, and cousins, and finds a wall of magical cupboards in his bedroom. The first time I read it, I thought it was too weird for me. A few years later I read it again, and now I really like it. I wouldn't recommend it for nine and under, because it can be a little spooky at times. I can't wait to read the next one!😁

I would not recommend this book.

I really enjoyed the premise of this book, unfortunately it fell flat in many areas and felt full of needless tropes of children's mystery/fantasy fiction. There is nothing specifically wrong with the book it just comes across as very underwhelming. Out of the long list of children's novels I have read this summer it is one of the weakest by far.

Instead of 100 Cupboards I recommend The Golden Hour, The Battle for the Castle, Mouseheart, or Dragonrider. All of these touch on similar aspects to 100 Cupboards but are much stronger as an entire book.

I started this book with high expectations, having just finished The Legend of Sam Miracle, and was mostly satisfied. 100 Cupboards was enjoyable, but not quite as riveting. However, it was still a very well written book, and I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.

Man, I love this book. I love it a lot, but if you think this book is good, read his Ashtown Burials series. It's even BETTER! I love how Henry kinda begins to come out of his shell a bit, and try new stuff!

THIS BOOK IS AWESOME!!!!! Oh my goodness, it's so unique and magical and just NEW, in my opinion. I mean, sure sure, there's bee magical DOORS before (e.g., Narnia, and technically that was a wardrobe), but who ever thought of magic CUPBOARDS!?!? As I've heard from someone else somewhere before, don't let the title fool you. This book has plot, action, humor, great writing, and great characters. Like previous reviews, the beginning is rather slow, so it took me a while to really get addicted to the book, but it really starts to get good as you progress. I was recommended this book by our library because they said that someone had told them that the writing style was a bit like Dianna Wynne Jones (who, if you have not read, you are missing something INSANELY GOOD, and if you HAVE read something by her...IT HAD BETTER BE HOWL'S MOVING CASTLE BECAUSE THAT BOOK IS AMAZING!!!!), so I was interested in reading it. The main character (Henry) is likable and I felt for him at the beginning. I'll admit that Henrietta REALLY ANNOYS ME, but I got over it by the end. It's so interesting, that once you read the first book, you have to read the other two!!! I'M GOING TO DO THAT!!!! BUT FIRST, READ THIS YOURSELF!!! And, while you're at it, check out Dianna Wynne Jones. BEST. AUTHOR. EVER. HANDS DOWN. PERIOD. EXCLAMATION POINT.

This was at times very spooky, but mostly just mysterious. It had the "magical orphan" archetype as the main character.

The first book in the 100 Cupboards trilogy. I've read it 5+ times already. The beginning is a little slow action-wise, but N.D. Wilson makes up for it by creating incredibly compelling (and often hilarious) characters. A great set-up for one of my favorite fantasy series of all time.

I really enjoyed this book. It starts slow in order to inform the reader of what is going on, but the climax and the ending are really good. By the end, I was ready to read the next book. The characters are all very interesting, and I really enjoyed the writing style. I'll be reading the series.
