I loved this book! From the Bible we don’t know much about Rahab, other than the fact that she was a harlot, that she married Salmone, that she became the mother of Boaz and from their descendants Jesus was born into. But the Bible doesn’t tell us how she met Salmone, what she went through joining Israel or anything about her life and struggles. I feel that this book really gives a plausible and believable story of what might have happened.
I really loved the progression of the love story between Rahab and Salmone, I loved how the story didn’t stop after their marriage and instead showcased the struggles they might have gone through in accepting each other and realizing their worth in their eyes and in the eyes of God.

One of the best books I have read in a long time. I deeply appreciated Afshar's tale of this story and accounting of some of the amazing things about storytellying and God. Truly a delightful read. It read like the mythology movies (Thor, Wonder Woman). Truly truly enjoyed this book!

I have just discovered Tessa Afshar's books, and I am so thrilled with them! I love how she weaves together historical details and spiritual truth. This book tells the story of Rahab. I love how the author explores the walled off isolation of Rahab and her journey from shame to acceptance in the Lord's (and her husband's) eyes.

Just finished this book and loved it. Tessa Afshar is a creative writer with depth that made this story so appealing and also challenging. It can be read on different levels--a love story, historical fiction, or devotional reading. Francine Rivers also has a book on the life of Rahab that was good. I wish I could remember what it was called. Maybe "Unashamed"
