Add a CommentI am a big fan of Sneaky Pie and Rita Mae Brown. All their mysteries are well plotted and the characters become like friends. Working my way through all of the Sneaky Pie series.
I have to say, even though I am not a 'pet' person, I found this book a delightful read. The insertion of dialogue between the pets at first was distracting, perhaps because the writing style was so different for me, but I later found they had much to 'say'. The characters were lovely, and the plot interesting. The town of Crozet must truly have been small and remote, because the work atmosphere at the post office is truly one of wishful thinking. The postmistress and employees chatted away with customers, took long lunches, left doors unlocked, and had pets inside, etc. A far, far cry from my real-life work experience. But then again, the story is fiction.
