Yellow Tulips on A Cloudy Day
A Survivor's JournalBook - 2016
Yellow Tulips on A Cloudy Day is the journal of internationally known domestic violence survivor and advocate, Christy Sims. In this book, she journals her three year road to recovery and her fight for justice after being severely burned and disfigured via acid attack by her ex-boyfriend. The title is a metaphor for how she was able to find goodness and joy in the midst of evil and heartache. It is about overcoming the worst things imaginable. It is about family and friendships, and the kindness of strangers who were friends unaware, and old friendships that were made brand new as a result of her tragedy. She speaks about finding gems in our flawed legal system. It's about the miracle of modern medicine. It's about never giving up. It's about finding beauty in everything and everyone. It's about discovering who you truly are. She shares her journey of self-discovery and self-awareness, and how she was able to truly find herself after losing everything, including her pretty face. This journal explores sex and lies and ungodly soul ties.
