Precious Ramotswe and her chief associate co-director, Grace Makutsi, have worked together for many years. Together, they have solved numerous complex cases, seeing eye to eye on most professional matters. When a Canadian woman invokes their help in recovering memories of her early childhood in Botswana, differences of opinion arise between the two firm friends, and diplomacy is called for.

Reading is nicely done but oh so slow ! It would take nearly 10 hours to listen to a book you can read in 2 hours. Part way through Disc 2 I'm giving up. Reviewers say this episode is more unfocussed and more filled with clichés than others in the series. So far, that seems true. After listening to what seems like at least an hour of the initial interview with a client and still having no clue why she is hiring Mma Ramotswe, I'm giving up. "Yes, Canada is big. Yes, there are bears in Canada. No, we cannot know all our neighbours. Yes, this client is sad .... about something. Yes, when you look at a map, Canada is very big. Yes, we have snow. Yes, the client is sad. Yes, we are all drinking tea. Yes, Canada is a big country. And on and on and on. I couldn't take it anymore. It all seems much more charming when we can scan pages at our own speed and not listen to all the dialogue at the very, very slow speaking speed used in this audiobook.
