Rapp heads to Pakistan to confront a mortal threat he may not be prepared for. In fact, this time he might have met his match. Mitch Rapp is used to winning. But now the CIA operative finds himself chasing false leads from continent to continent in an effort to keep nukes from falling into the hands of terrorists. Together with friend and colleague Scott Coleman, Rapp struggles to prevent the loss of these lethal weapons, and soon it becomes alarmingly clear that forces in Moscow are hell-bent on fomenting even more chaos and turmoil in the Middle East. Rapp must go deep into Russian territory, posing as an American ISIS recruit, to stop a plan much more dangerous and insidious than he ever expected.

I'm starting to get tired of these franchise novels where a well known name is used as the lure (a la James Patterson) but the work is really written by someone else. This book is by Kyle Mills since the author Vince Flynn died in 2013. The novel lacks authenticity as you can't feel you're really in the action due to the thumbnail location descriptions. There is little or no character development of even the major players and the plotline is flimsy. This was my first Mitch Rapp novel and I found it a little disappointing.

Have read all of Vince Flynn's books. Kyle Mills has the Flynn plot down, but the writing just doesn't cut it. Sort of like moving down from Papa John's (or Panago) to a superstore generic frozen pizza; the taste is just not the same. Was unable to finish the book (& the SS pizza).
