Colleen Frakes spent part of her childhood living on McNeil Island in Washington state which was home to the last prison island in the United States. I enjoyed all of the sweet cartoonish art, but not very much happens in this simple childhood memoir. Frakes really needs to find a better story.

This was a really interesting graphic novel to read. Having lived in Washington my whole life, I didn't even know that this place existed. And now to find out that it's closed is fascinating. I would highly recommend this read. It was a very quick and didn't take long to get into the story.
