As the latest album of Coldplay, A Head Full of Dreams has veered off into a different direction than its preceding albums. This is because this album has a more optimistic and lively sound to it than most of the band’s other music. Apart from that, there are also several featuring artists across the songs, including stars such as Beyonce. Even though some people may not enjoy this different music style from Coldplay, I found the album quite enjoyable. Though I would definitely not put it up as one of their greatest albums, I would still say that the songs are amazing, and the happy tone of the music brings life into the album. Chris Martin’s vocals never disappoint, and songs such as “Adventure of a Lifetime” are sure to brighten up your mood. I give the album 4 stars. @Riveting_Reviews of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board
I am planning to buy this CD but I realized that Marsden Library might have one of these. Hmmm, fortunately YES. Time to save it to my list of songs/artists. Long live COLDPLAY.
Some bands lose their magic... This is the only way I can explain Coldplay's recent efforts. The magic just isn't there any more.
I agree with an earlier commenter that this is not the best Coldplay album out there. On the other hand, it is still a great album, and for new comer's, is very accessible, and a few of the songs are very good. It will be interesting to see what they do next, and if they can keep their arena-filling status.
Looking forward to this new album (and possibly their last).
If you are hoping this will be another 'Parachutes' or 'Rush of Blood to the Head', you will be very mistaken.
This is as mainstream pop as I have ever heard from Coldplay, which I guess should come as no surprise when you see a track featuring Tove Lo.
Despite my wish they stuck to the alternative rock genre, I still enjoyed some tracks. Everglow is pretty good and probably would have been a better single to market for the album than Adventure of a Lifetime.
Will this be an album you go back to in a year from now? Probably not, but it is not the worst out there.
Ghost Stories was not released all that long ago and that was a more solid album than this.
I think Coldplay needs to regroup, take a longer stretch to write and maybe shorten the track listing to 8 or 9 solid tracks - quality is better than quantity. My hope is we see a return to their roots in their next album.
