This book was okay. It was a little too easy to figure out was happening in the story.

This book was certainly different. The romance between Josie and Eli was completely rushed. Eli was a mystery, but I wish the author did a better job of describing him even if he was supposed to be a ghost. This was not as descriptive so I couldn’t picture vividly the setting it took place in. However, I did like the plot twist at the end where the march took place, that event was quite interesting but other than that, the book did not catch my eye. I felt no enthusiasm in reading the book, I only felt a little hurt at the ending where Eli turned out to be a ghost. I feel like there needed to be more descriptions in all the characters and probably needed to be longer to introduce each one. One thing I did not understand was how Josie was easily able to mourn her parents in such a short amount of time. I would’ve thought there to be agony, loneliness, despair, and grief. But in her case it was kind of oh well my parents died. The romance was so rushed, I couldn’t feel a connection. Romance usually takes time not two days. It didn’t really show much character traits in Eli or Josie I could pull out like a couple but that’s it. The plot twist was surprising but was pretty rushed, I would’ve liked to see hints dropped in the book every now and then that some people were dead. This concludes, I didn’t love the book but I didn’t hate it either. Which leaves me in the middle. the romance was too quick, the book was mildly interesting. As for the march that broke my heart just a tad even if it didn’t leave me in complete hurt, it did surprise me that he was actually the ghost this whole time. The whole town and people were murderers under the noises of other citizens. They walked normally and acted perfectly fine, when they were the ones who left destruction for the innocent souls that tried to cross seas.
