If you're just making the switch over to a laptop, this hands-on, easy-to-follow guide makes the transition easy!

Covers the latest hardware and technology updates you need to get up and running with your laptop Includes updates on the new Windows 10 operating system, wireless networking, smartphone tethering, and using productivity applications on laptops Walks you through everything you need to deal with add-ons, networking procedures, and connectivity and communication Presents complex material in a way that makes it simple and accessible

Excellent! I am going to check it out again when I get my new laptop. Tons of info mixed with humor that keeps it from getting boring. I was disappointed that it didn't give much information about how to select my laptop; it is very general in that respect and the author gives the impression that there are so many choices available that it would be impossible to cover them all individually.
As good as it is Dan seems to have his head in the sand concerning the present homelessness crisis in the United States. Thousands of homeless people who obviously can't buy a PC are turning to Lap Tops and Tablets using WiFi to connect to the Internet today. His comments about keeping all the boxes the Lap Tops come in are completely impractical for the homeless laptop buyer.
