Asmodeus "Sax" Saxon-Tang, a vainglorious and well-established antiques dealer, has made a fortune over many years by globetrotting for the finest lost objects in the world. Only Sax knows the true secret to his success: at certain points of his life, he's killed vampires for their priceless hoards of treasure. But now Sax's past actions are quite literally coming back to haunt him, and the lives of those he holds most dear are in mortal danger. To counter this unnatural threat, and with the blessing of the Holy Roman Church, a cowardly but cunning Sax must travel across Europe in pursuit of incalculable evil and immeasurable wealth with a ragtag team of mercenaries and vampire killers to hunt a terrifying, ageless who is hunting Sax in turn.

I loved the authors unique take on a novel revolving around vampires. His characters were well developed, and the storyline well paced and easy to follow (inspite of the time jumps)
Looking forward to reading other things by this author

I loved a comment in another review that called this book "Dracula meets Ocean Eleven". Great writing, there were so many times I just wanted to grab someone and read aloud to them. The vampires and their mythology are refreshingly unique. Humor, horror and a heist what's not to love?

A horror-heist novel taking place in the 1960's, 1980's and 2010's. The star is Asmodeus Saxon Tang, a rare antiques collector who openly describes himself as an unapologetic coward. A clever, greedy old man whom despite his personality quirks is also extremely personable. The public knows him as a high society artifact procurer with an eye for rarity. The Church knows him as a crafty thief with a decades long career of finding vampires and obtaining their treasures. This book was difficult to put down, despite having a deliberately slow exposition and jumping through different time periods.
