I can only recommend this series to both urban fantasy and paranormal romance fans. This is the first of 4 books, which built upon each other and should be read in order. While each book features a different couple, together they tell a story of increasing racial and magical tensions in the face of the coming out of witches in the modern age. And even though the story features witches, werewolves and the occasional Lycan, what makes it believable is the stubborn resistance in the average non-magical human to deal with the unknown with anything less than intolerance, fear, hatred or at best apathy. This becomes more visible in the later books but it begins here. The main characters are strong and the couples build partnerships, the women being as capable and strong as their male counterparts. Unfortunately, this is not always the case for books which combine the elements of romance and paranormal.

Recommended for: Chloe Neill/ Ilona Andrews/ Patricia Briggs Lovers.
Also: If you haven't yet read Goddess with a Blade, you really should. Kick-ass heroine.
