i *loved* this book, and it's changed how I eat, and I feel much better! And I've lost 12 pounds, but that feels secondary. I recommend it.

Have you ever imagined that the human body is an ecosystem inhabited by trillions of friendly bacteria interacting with the body's systems to keep us healthy and happy? Amazing! Unfortunately, the over-use of antibiotics, anti-bacterial products, and a typical Western diet is causing a mass extinction of these essential microbes. The good news is that we can do something about it. "The Good Gut" delivers the fascinating science of our microbiome, along with the how-to's for taking care of it. Includes great-tasting recipes.
