The same events are seen differently from the perspective of three characters in order to teach us that capitalism puts a price on everything and everyone. Overlong, too often unfocused, and with mediocre subtitles ... but the beauty of VBT allows us to put up with a lot. What money makes us do is the big villain, but a cameo scene also mocks with deadly accuracy the mannerisms and irrelevance of Italian intellectuals.

The movie felt like a mix of the American greedy rich and the Fellini like modern dolce vita in northern Italy. Some good acting, loose story, watchable though.

The movie has the same title of the best seller's book in the America, "the human capital". It is an Italian movie. All of characters in the book have typical Italian names and lives there.
The film is set in the north Italy near the big city Milan. You will see a magnificent villa with spectacular view and how a life is going on there in an organic way.
The film lines up with titled chapters that helps to understand how stores developed and mingled together. The music is so pleasing and the filming is done brilliantly. The most of all, the Italian-french actress, Valeria Bruni Tedeschi, had one of the her best performances here.
It is beautiful film and you will love to watch it.

Found it well acted, and with a interesting story that intertwines the lives of several people in totally different situations. It also allows us to
see the weaknesses in the character of people who we otherwise would not suspect.
One of those movies you will ponder about afterwards.....

This film from Italy is a pretty good drama on love, infidelity, greed, and human relations in general. The title has no bearing on the story until it was explained at the very end. The connection was trivial compared to the main story, which was told in 4 chapters. But I find this chapter approach totally unnecessary. Still it is, subtitles and all, a good diversion from the usual Hollywood fare.

Yes, what an excellent eye-opener. This is how the 1% does business, absolutely no empathy! Money is God.There is a German saying, translated to something like" To Walk Over Corpses" to get what you want...

FOund it to be not unlike Wall Street of the Business World.

The construction of this film is similar to Crash, Babel, and Amores Perrores - In the beginning it seems as if it is a film consisting of separate little stories, but by the end the different characters of the different stories end up in the same story. A second viewing would be rewarding as you can then determine how the various characters are really together, not separate.

Price of a human:

Massimiliano's insurance company negotiated with the family of the victim, Fabrizio Lupi, for a settlement of 218,976 euro. Sums like this are calculated based on specific parameters: the person's life expectancy, earning capacity, quantity and quality of emotional bonds. Insurance companies call this human capital
