If I had my way, today's young people would be required to watch a few episodes...just to help them realize that they are not the first generation that has had to deal with those social issues - race, feminism, corporations vs. the little guy, ecology, etc. Maybe they would realize that those of us they often disdain for not being passionate enough got to that level of dispassion by realizing that it is sad, yet still true, that the more things change, the more they stay the same. Yes, good goals are worth fighting for. We felt much as they did when we were younger....raising our kids took the energy out of a lot of us, though.

Just like our parents lost a lot of energy through raising the boomer generation. May they end up losing some energy themselves, fighting the good fight, and raising a generation that will look down at them for not fighting enough. But may their kids realize that it is a case of "anymore" and that the realization that fighting doesn't get as far as trying to have a meeting of the minds, instead of throwing sound bites at one another!
