When librarian Laura Griffith's younger sister disappears on a frigid February day, leaving only a brief note behind, Laura resolves to do whatever it takes to track down the runaway teen. That includes recruiting ATF agent turned PI James "Dev" Devlin to help. But the deeper he digs, the more he begins to suspect that something sinister is at work in the disappearance. And the closer he gets to uncovering the truth, the clearer it becomes that the situation isn't just dangerous, it's deadly.

This book is proof, once again, of Irene Hannon's skill in developing an intriguing and suspense-filled plot.

Irene Hannon delivers once again with a great new book in the Private Justice Series. This time, with a storyline ripped from recent news headlines. For me, that made it even more believable and alarming. This is my favourite kind of fiction - a good suspense-filled story with a dash of romance and there's no one better at it than this author.

The subject material of this book makes it harder to read than her previous books, but it was handled well and still isn't overly frightening or gruesome in any way. She leaves a lot of details to the imagination, thankfully.
