I concur: thumps up! The 80s were crawling with all manner of little creatures, some malicious and some cutesy: E.T.s, gremlins, ghoulies, robots ("Short Circuit," "Batteries Not Included"), leprechauns, that E.T. thing from "Mac & Me," apes ("Project X"), aliens ("Flight of the Navigator"). 1986's "Critters" is a pretty obvious, but pretty entertaining "Gremlins" rip off about furry, teeth-y aliens who land in a small town and start tearing crap up. Dee Wallace, who was in "E.T.", and the great character actor M. Emmet Walsh star, although they might leave this one off their resume. Followed, inexplicably, by a few sequels. Director Stephen Herek would go on to do gems like "Bill & Ted," "Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead," and "Mr. Holland's Opus."
