I very strongly encourage anyone who is or (is close to someone) struggling with addictive, obsessive, or any other type of negative behavior to read this book cover-to-cover. Each chapter begins with a chart of a specific type of negative behavior, broken down by definition, what you see, and how others see you when experiencing the behavior. The chapters end with actionable exercises and thought experiments, and sprinkled with examples from the authors own personal experiences.

It was one of my life changing books for sure, and pairs well with "The Depression Cure" which has a similar format but with a focus on health.
