The author ...shows why pushy, hovering 'tiger parents' and permissive 'jellyfish parents' actually hinder self-motivation. She proposes a powerful new parenting model: the intelligent, playful, highly social dolphin. Dolphin parents focus on maintaining balance in their children's lives to gently, yet authoritatively guide them toward lasting health, happiness, and success.

I agreed with everything the author said, but there's not enough practical advice. This book is more about the philosophy of not micromanaging your kids' lives. I need more tangible tips on how to negotiate tricky situations. However, the writing was good and the author came across as very likeable.

Encourages learning through play, empathy, exploration, and getting off of programmed activities. I couldn't agree more!
