Discover the New York Times bestselling Lux series, which RT Book Reviews called "A thrilling ride from start to finish," from the very beginning ...

Starting over sucks.

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I'd pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring...until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something...unexpected happens.

The hot alien living next door marks me.

You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon's touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I'm getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.

If I don't kill him first, that is.

I can't say I didn't know what I was getting into with this. It was a light paranormal read that didn't make me think too much. It follows a very standard formula. New girl who doesn't know she is beautiful moves into small town and meets mysterious and attractive boy. There is instant attraction and they immediately start a love/hate relationship. The boy, who also happens to be an alien, runs hot and cold, but eventually succumbs to his feelings for human girl. Throw in some bad guys, a happy-go-lucky sister, a jealous ex and you've got a pretty predictable plot for this book. Admittedly, this is sometimes the type of book I want to read, especially after I have read books with heavier content, but it was nothing new or original. I will likely not be moving on with the series.

Accidentally stumbled upon the best series I have ever read. Strongly recommended!! I literally drove to 2 libraries to get the 3rd book every one has your full attention you won’t want to put it down.

I read this book in a single day. I loved it. I love Armentrouts writing style. This is the second book series of hers I have started reading. Great author!

This is a story where the main character is mostly all talk and no walk. Katy Swartz is, while she can sometimes be the queen of comebacks, a wimp most of the story. Obsidian is not the best, well done book literature-wise; however, it DOES have an interesting plot line (which is why i pushed myself to read the next four books). Maybe it's just me (because I've read a lot of books with these types of characters), but I found that it was pretty obvious to what every character felt and also what was going to happen next. While I don't absolutely hate Twilight, Obsidian and it have the same story line so if you are a Twilight fan, the first book has the same plot twists as the first Twilight. While this wasn't the best book ever written, it was engaging nonetheless.

Oh my god, if you loved Twilight you are going to love this series.
Replace the Vampire with an Alien and the story still works. The cover was right, I pulled an all nighter to read book one and too. I could not put it down.

Great read! I couldn't put it down. This book is fantastic and so much fun. LOVE the romance and Daemon sounds absolutely dreamy. I really loved this book. But loved the sequel even better. Am looking forward to reading the final book in the trilogy.

If you are a Twilight fan then this is a great read alike. There are no vampires or wolfs but there are still plenty of other scary things that go bump in the night.
