This series is just awesome! The characters are so down to earth, and this book was such a good start to the series. You will LOVE this book, and the whole series!!

This book is "The Hunger Games" meets "The Bachelor." It's extremely teenager-y and silly, but it's also really fun to read and I just flew through the series. And my teenage daughter absolutely loves them.

I can't really review this book because it was so confusing that I couldn't really read it. I couldn't tell if it was a period piece or present day and the odd talk about how the main character didn't know what Halloween was confused me even more. I skipped around hoping to find at least a hint of romance but I only found one small part; a series of kisses between America and Aspen. That's not intended to be a spoiler or anything. This isn't a book that I would normally read but I was mesmerized by the cover in the teen section of the Mill Creek library. It doesn't really read like a teen novel which might have been part of the problem. But fortunately there are plenty of other books on my TBR list.

I hate this book with every fiber of my being. The main character is fickle, shallow, unintelligent, and I couldn't listen to her for a second longer than I did in my reading. Utterly predictable garbage.

One of my fav series highly recommend it

The Selection is a great read! It is a mixture of romance and adventure. It is very captivating as well as exciting. America Singer is selected to have a chance to compete for the role of Prince Maxon’s bride and the role of queen. She is forced to leave behind her family and secret boyfriend Aspen. She also has to make a lot of tough decisions. I loved this book because there was never a dull moment and it was romantic without being too mushy. I would definitely recommend this book to teens looking for a good read. On a scale of 1-5, I would rate this book a 4.5. Analisa, grade 11, of the Yorba Linda Teen Book Bloggers

The selction is a very entertaining book with lots of loveable characters (and couples you'll root for untill the end). I really liked this book because it kept me reading and wanting to see what happened next. The selection is sort of a cross between the hunger games and the bachelor. I would recommend this book to people ages 11 plus.

It’s no sophisticated prose but it’s a rather light, entertaining read. Fair warning, make sure to have quick access to the rest of the series as you will want to keep moving through the story once you turn the final page

"One can never help being born into perfection" i whispered.
He came close, wrapping an arm around my waist so that we faced each other. His nose tickled mine. He ran his fingers across my check so gently it seemed he was afraid i might break.
"No, i don't suppose you can,'' He breathed
With his hand holding my face towards his he lowered his lips to mine and gave me the faintest whisper of a kiss.
Something about the tentativeness of it made me feel beautiful. Without a word, i could understand how excited he was to have this moment, but then afraid at the same time. And deeper then any of that, i sensed that he adored me."
