Jeremy Reins wakes up in a cramped space with the only light coming from the digital numbers ticking away above his head. Confused and disoriented with no one answering his cries for help, he suddenly hears an engine rev and his predicament becomes clear: he's trapped in the trunk of a moving car. As his captors reveal themselves, Jeremy realizes he won't be set free until he gives up the whereabouts of a secret location where the U.S. President is taken in the event of a terrorist attack.

I really liked this movie. I found it original (remember it came out before the Ryan Renyolds movie) in concept and brilliantly acted. Very claustrophobic!!!

I felt like I was trapped in a mine; had to get away from the screen. And then the bizarre closing is most disgustingly loathsome; quite stupid and drags the rating down

very good

It was an okay movie with a terrible ending. Sometimes just telling a simple story works better than trying to pull off a shocking twist.

The setting, for the most part, remains the same throughout the movie. Nonetheless, I liked “Brake” simply because it is different from others of this genre.

A government agent with a gambling problem is locked in a box in the trunk of a car, terrorists want to know the location of a secret base where the president will be and are going to keep him boxed up till they get it. It's kinda a action movie in a car trunk, if that makes any sense. Stephen Dorff is good for what he has to work with, and it has a few OK moments, but the twist ending seemed dumb and clunky, which just made the whole thing leave a bad taste in my mouth, cinematicly speaking.
