Early Garth Ennis work. Much less gritty and violent than his non-mainstream comics, but has his trademark humor and poignant story lines.

Tommy is my favorite unknown antihero ever. Everyone goes nuts for Garth Ennis' Punisher but with Hitman he's let loose on supes and the outcome is amazing. The book reads like a buddy cop sitcom only the good guys are also somewhat misunderstood hitmen. The best thing about this series was the interaction with Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman (Not all in this book only the batman is)

If for no other reason read this just to see what happens to batman that has never been done in comics before and is hilarious.
