"Darling, remember Daphne du Maurier? Boyish girl, theatrical family, wrote Rebecca (although ask her about something, ANYTHING else)? Well, someone made a biopic. If one's love life can be called one's life. First a cloying affair with an American -- that came to nothing. Then she took up with her father's long-time companion and dancing partner, Gertrude Lawrence. What Gertie would have said of that galumphing creature playing her, I do not know. Her entire performance is based on scarlet nail polish. No more do I know what all their husbands made of it. Stiff upper lips, of course, but pretty septic for them, don't you think? Daphne was inspired to write My Cousin Rachel, so it was all worthwhile, apparently."

Seattle Public Library - I returned this on the due date, June 5th, around 6:30 pm, Northeast Branch. It was dropped into the Media slot inside the library right before I dropped a book on Vegetarian living in the book slot. The book was checked in, and this DVD was not. Please correct. - Thank you.

It's interesting to see Janet McTeer, who is not a lesbian, in this lesbian role which precedes her very deserving Oscar nominated one in Albert Nobbs with Glenn Close.
