A wonderful book to connect children to Nature through lyrical poetry that is both educational, entertaining and beautiful. Turning each page illuminates another natural phenomena, aspect of nature, or a natural process in a nice mix of general and specific subjects. There are fun crafts, projects, activities and even recipes included! This book is a great book to check out any time of the year and would also make a great gift to ensure that the child who receives it is informed and connected to the living world around them which creates an essential foundation for lifelong discovery and learning.

A fantastic book that merges science, art, and poetry--a delight. Loved the simple poems that encourage children to explore, experience and think about nature's sounds, sights, and smells. The seasonal table of contents was a nice touch. I checked this out from the library, but plan to give it as a gift to many children in my life from now forward. Loved it.
