There's nothing wrong with the production of this movie. What it is is very, very cerebral. Movie takes place among about four or five "closeted gay men who are seminarians doing pre-doctoral theses in a liberal-evangelical seminary." That sentence has so many oxymorons and contradictions in it that I don't know where to begin.
The other thing the movie does is do an excellent job of showing that gay men who aren't exactly model material live in a totally different world from men who are hot.
Even the hot guys we see naked and working out have minor flaws that keep them from being perfect, and everyone in the movie has the problems that plain people have, such as spending an entire year getting to know someone online, and then the one time you get to meet him he doesn't want to ever see you again. That might bother people because it either shows them to be shallow, or it hits way too close to home.

Skip It - The Seminarian (2010) 101 min. Considering the concept of the film is well thought out – a homosexual seminarian writing his thesis on divine love and the connection to suffering, the film’s “kryptonite” is the poor acting and low production values.
