50 Ways of Saying Fabulous thinks it's a charming coming of age film but it's far from charming and is unpleasant and boring. The film is mostly nonstop cruel interaction of children and family members. Realistic, yes, but extremely unpleasant. There's nothing wrong with films that aren't all sunshine and lollipops but 50 Ways is also really boring. It's well acted and nicely shot but the plot is mostly the above mentioned cruelty with the occasional melodramatic moment thrown in. 50 Ways isn't terrible, but it's not enjoyable either. And if you're looking for something light hearted and pleasant look elsewhere.
