By far the best graphic novel of the series, Morrison has kicked into highest gear. Although very well supported by the art, it is the text, the words themselves, which provide a kind of verbal special effects which drastically intensify the story. Morrison's talents are really kind of wasted outside of the Vertigo imprint, Vertigo allows him to develope his full range believably.
