Warning: shocking death scenes, gore.
Good sci-fi/horror/drama/thriller. Prisoners wake up from a blackout and attempt to escape a maze nobody has ever seen before.
Imagine you are locked inside a giant, advanced type of Rubik's Cube!
There are three films in the series.
Cube (1997), a sequel - Cube 2: Hypercube (2002), and a prequel for Cube (1997) called Cube Zero (2004).

Directed and co-written by Vincenzo Natali in 1997, this Canadian SF horror-drama depicts the struggle of a group of people as they escape from the cube-shaped rooms, some of which have various traps designed to kill.
Although the idea seems quite fascinating, this DVD (3 1383 09651 3133) has an awful lot of scratches.
Really annoying!

This is a pretty strong low budget Canadian movie. I find the premise intriguing while other reviewers are correct in that the acting is not as good as one would hope. After watching again it didn't seem as good as the first viewing. But recommended.

This movie is intriguing and promising, but ultimately unsatisfying. The acting is of varying quality. The plotting is decent. The end resolves nothing. The most interesting thing about this movie is it's critique of bureaucracy and the culture of 'just following orders'.

Interesting show for sure! Acting...Meh, but decent storyline.

In the end, i really enjoyed this movie far more than i thought i would. I found it original and suspenseful and the characters quite likable. It's not for everyone, it's a bit quirky, but if you like twilight zone sort of stories, i think you'd like this.

This was a pretty good horror/thriller movie involving trying to escape from a trap filled cube. The acting kind of hurt the movie for me and some of the storyline/dialogue didn't make sense to me. Still a pretty fun little violent ride. I will be watching the sequel(s) out of sparked curiosity.

I was first told about this movie from an associate at work and thought, based on what he said, how good can a movie be if your stuck in a cube? Well i'm proud to say this movie is part of my collection and i watched it on my HOMETHEATER. Most of the sound consist of shifting rooms or chambers, moving up and down around the room the characters are in. And There's some decent sound from the rooms with deadly traps that some enter. But the story, characters, and traps make this movie interesting, weird, and fun. I give this movie 4 stars. For imagination, a decent cast, and an ok story. A thick slice of Lasagna with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, vinegar, and wine.
