I found this audiobook to be entertaining and enjoyable, but lacking in the character development and social commentary that might elevate it to “literature” (whatever that means). It was a fun book that doesn’t take itself too seriously, but still offers food for thought. A great deal of historical research made it into the book, which lends substantial credibility to the plot. The narration by Scott Holst was fine. Not great, just fine. His character voices were sometimes hard to distinguish, but his pacing and overall delivery was pretty good. I would recommend the audiobook to anyone who is enticed by alternate histories, but don’t expect a world-class production.

A very cleverly written book..lots of historical references to the Civil War, and Abraham Lincoln. A good horror story, be aware some of the "fights" are very graphic...if you like Vampires, you will like this novel.

I am enjoying this book very much. You have to understand that this is part true history with a vampire twist. If you are not into Lincoln history then I would pass on this one. I have enjoyed it and can't wait for the movie as well!
