I am unsure how to address the 'Conversations With God" books. I think the author is just as valid in belief and assertion that he as spoken with God as any other Prophet who ever wrote down a scripture. I don't say that as a compliment however. He does make an interesting point when he straight up asks 'God' how he can know whether he's really having the conversation or simply losing his mind. 'God' says that the question is irrelevant and impossible to answer, rather 'God' suggests that Walsh ask himself (and that by association the read should ask as well) whether what has been said was useful.

By that benchmark, I found that the first book bears up, just barely. Out of all the new age woo that I read as a young man; this is one of the very few that hasn't lost all value to me in the years that followed. The same cannot be said for the movie (although it's interesting) or the second and third books in the series. But hey, that's still better than a lot of other new age rubbish I read back in the day.

The world would be a lot uglier if GOD did not interfere, I believe miracles happen everyday somewhere in the world. Just take a look at history, the world was very ugly and cruel before Jesus came on the scene, JESUS changed everything, but it was a slow process and some men just use the name of JESUS for profit and power, and I am sure people did the same with the names of other great people and or names of demigods.

This is all a very nice pipe dream. The acting is good, it's a good story and as a film this is very nice. But as for reality, I have never seen evidence of a God who deliberately interferes with people's lives. And I don't believe it. I believe God is about choice. The freedom to choose is the freedom to fail. He will not interfere; because if he did, if he would, then there would not be such ugliness in the world.

Truly remarkable, inspiring, redemptive, and healing. Inspires hope and purpose. Extremely moving and lovingly confrontational. Deals with poverty and the bottom of the bottoms, and barely surviving there. With the awe-inspiring hope of breaking through. I highly recommend this dvd movie, based on a true story.
