I found Angel Time a bit slow in the beginning but was so truly rich by its ending that I'm excited to continue the series and find out what happens to Toby next.

A lot of the book is based around story telling and histories, both personal and public. Though the beginning was slow it was needed to describe the events, and the detail, and the emotions that led Toby to make the choices that he had made.

After the past is revealed he is taken back in time, to the 13th century, to repent for his sins by helping others. And that is where the book gets really exciting.
