Bumped from a flight back to Los Angeles and his life, Mikey returns to his childhood home, a cluttered Manhattan loft presided over by his bohemian parents. His mother tells him he may stay as long as he wants. What begins as a respite from adult responsibility becomes a premature mid-life crisis. Re-installed in a house saturated with two generations of bric-a-brac evoking days gone by, Mikey starts to regress and drift back to an awkward youth he never outgrew.

Both completely worthwhile and tedious in equal measure. The greatest problem with this film is that we just can't sympathize with the lead character. He is (no more, no less) exactly what we expect from the premise. A BIG BABY. So although highly detailed and atmospheric, the center of the film is a black hole, and nothing escapes it. Try it, but do keep your finger on the fast forward button, and don't expect any epiphanies.

Very Disturbing...How can a guy stay away from such a beautiful baby for that long...
