Singh introduces readers to a world of beauty and bloodlust, where angels hold sway over vampires. Vampire hunter Elena Deveraux is hired by the dangerously beautiful Archangel Raphael. But this time, it's not a wayward vamp she has to track. It's an archangel gone bad. The job will put Elena in the midst of a killing spree like no other—and pull her to the razor's edge of passion. Even if the hunt doesn't destroy her, succumbing to Raphael's seductive touch just may. For when archangels play, mortals break.

A great start to a new series with a kick-ass heroine, delectable hero and riveting plot-line. And while bursting at the binding with sexual tension and steamy scenes, there just wasn't enough romance (of the non-sexual kind) for my taste. So I'm hoping the next installment will show a more complex and deeper bond between Raphael and Elena and include something other than just the physical. On a side note, I absolutely loved the playboy vampire Dimitri and the badboy angel Illium! Definitely looking forward to reading more about these two :P

First book in the Guild Hunters series. Singh does a wonderful job of depicting angels and vampires in an entirely new light (and not in the way some authors have of saying, "Oh this variation hasn't been done yet"). I also love Elena and Raphael. They each have strong, individual personalities and histories that aren't cliche and aren't simple. This book and the next two in the series (Archangel's Kiss and Archangel's Consort) are about them.

That's another thing I love about this series. Elena and Raphael have too much back-story to be stuffed into this one novel (and she does a very good job of hinting mysteriously without being obvious, yet still getting the point across) but she doesn't drag out their relationship story either to sell more books. After the first three in the series, Singh tells Dmitri's story in Archangel's Blade, which is just as riveting.

I thought this book was awesome because it depicts angels in a different view than the common belief that they are this holy being that follows God's will. It had a great storyline that will not let you put it down.

It was pretty good! Definitely some steamy moments. Might go ahead and try the second in the Guild Hunters series.

A vampire hunter hunting a powerful vampire creator (an arch-angel) gone bad. An interesting mix of romance, suspense and alternate-reality in downtown Manhattan. The story develops very smoothly, and the character development is really very, very good. We get to know what makes "them" tick, and the interactions are really, truly interesting. Imaginative and well written.
