I'd heard all kinds of bad things about this movie, but it's actually not a bad movie in the least. Is it a classic? Not really-- as a comedy, it's uneven throughout, but the gags that do work are actually quite funny and to be honest, the gags land 75% of the time. And while no one's ever going to top Peter Sellers in this role, Alan Arkin doesn't do a bad job. The entirety of this movie beats the fifteen minutes I caught of one of the Steve Martin remakes, which just hurt to view.
