This is an example of how directors and editors and copyists can spoil a movie to unwatchability.
The movie is low-budget English from the seventies, judging from the hairstyles.
First mistake is that it's been recorded at way too low a volume, so even with the TV volume turned up only about 60% of the words can be heard, which means that only about 15% of the lines of the movie can be understood. It would help if there were subtitles, but this is an old English movie without them.
Second problem is that the microphones are not attached to the actors, they're mounted on the cameras, so when the actors turn away from the camera their voices fade even further.
Third problem is that the director shouldn't have actors turning away from cameras at all.
Fourth is that the actors are giving their lines in a rapid, slangy, unclear diction that would be hard to follow even if there were subtitles.
Thinking that the problems were related to the set itself, I was hoping for a set change so after about 20 minutes of trying to watch the movie I advanced the DVD through the movie looking for a set change, and there was only one, where a man, I presume one of the main characters, enters a lavatory.
I could not even tell if the movie was supposed to be comedy or drama. After 20 minutes I gave up on the movie as unwatchable. I'm very disappointed. I have no idea what the movie is about. And it's not my fault.
