There is visual richness in the wonderful Ancient Egyptian costumes, art, and the realistic set production values,..
and there was no skimping of hundreds of pre-CGI extras for military parades and pyramid construction.
But the characterization is weak and the dialogue often misses.
(William Faulkner worked on the script !?).

The commentary by Peter Bogdanovich, with earlier Howard Hawks' interviews spliced in, is O.K.,.. but this mis-fired 'epic' is mostly interesting as an artifact of movie-making history,.. or as a "camp classic".
