Not one of her best, but any Agatha Christie is better than most mystery writers. Love a cozy.

"A murder is announced" has two separate Miss Marples playing the lead role and they could be different from each other. Geraldine McEwan is young than Joan Hickson by at least two decades. But no matter what the Agatha Christie episode is the murders are always so antiseptic, no unconnected to actual bludgeoning of a skull, the skewer of intestines, the death pallor or someone poisoned. Where is the look of agony on the victims? Christie can let reality get in the way of mystery solving.
