Add a CommentDK’s clean and simple format features step-by-step instructions that break cooking down into manageable steps for kids. Steps that require adult supervision are clearly indicated. The recipes involve whole foods for the most part, with very accessible ingredients lists. This book would make a great introduction to the world of cooking for any child.
The illustrations and layout of this book were great, and I would have bought it if the actual recipes were better. They were relatively easy for a little kid to read and mix up (with a bit of help with sharp knives, bigger words, ovens, etc...) but the recipes we tried didn't turn out well. It seems hard to find a good kids' cookbook that has tasty and simple recipes that are easy to execute effectively in a kid-friendly format. Too many kids' cookbooks don't seem to care about the finished product.
