Establishes a diverse and dynamic range of relationships among long-time girlfriends, their spouses, and the way in which money (or lack of it) affects them all. The have-not of the group is Olivia. She is a teacher-turned pot-smoking housecleaner in the upscale neighborhoods of West Los Angeles. She's drifting on a sea of uncertainty, while her friends Franny, Christine, and Jane cope with the relatively enviable problems of wealthy discontentment. All four women have personal crises to resolve. Olivia tries to juggle the affections of a likable louse and a lonely slob who is secretly rich. Humor and melancholy are intertwined as these women go about their daily routines, attending benefits, chatting over meals, and doting over Olivia in their closed circle of friendships.

Add a CommentThis film is not a plot-driven narrative, but rather a nuanced exploration of exactly what the title says: "Friends With Money." It follows the lives a several well-to-do couples and a single woman of lesser means, their friendship and their respective trials and tribulations. While it's a quiet film, the characters struggle with their own demons within and without. All in all, it makes clear that, while having money does offer some measure of physical comfort, it neither buys happiness nor renders anyone immune to the strange vicissitudes of life. It's a thoughtful and, to my mind, altogether worthwhile film that speaks of important issues with subtlety.
Stupid and boring.
DO NOT RECOMEND !!!
I watched the whole boring movie. Sometimes great actors star in bad movies. I dare you to watch the whole movie.
Very boring film!! dont recommend it
Got this because I really like Frances McDormand. Didn't finish it. There is no story line, just a boring look at their everyday lives. When they don't get their way, they whine, whine, whine. One character complains that she doesn't want to wash her greasy hair because it makes her hair dry out. Then she complains that it also makes her arms hurt to hold them up to do the washing. How boring can you get?? These people need to get a life.
Could possibly have been OK, but the Jennifer Aniston curse holds true.
drama - interesting look into the lives of others
below my expectation
I liked this film. The scipt was funny and the actors did a wonderful job portraying their character's ups and downs (Frances McDormand was hilarious). I wish I'd caught it in the big screen!
Fair - Friends with Money (2006) 88 min. Interesting film with interesting characters focusing on relationships using familiar actors. Though the dialogue is bang on and the situations entertaining, the film just ends with no resolution to any of the plot points.
