I had heard that this film wasn't very good, but I beg to differ; I really enjoyed it. The synopsis didn't really turn me on and I wondered if I would even like the film. However despite the synopsis, this film had plenty of twists, turns and (most importantly)romance to keep me watching. Bogie and Bacall have wonderful chemistry as usual and I loved the ending of Dark Passage, which was reminiscent of another favorite of mine; "To Have and Have Not". Very enjoyable movie that keeps you guessing till the end!

Inventive for it's day. The first part of the movie is told first person, as the camera acts as Bogart's character. You see exactly what he sees. Then, after the plastic surgery, the emphasis changes to a conventional movie as the plastic surgery makes the character look like Bogart, so now he can be filmed. Interesting, but unbelievable characters and excellent supporting performances, especially by Agnes Morehead. Bogie and Bacall are great together. Good direction. So-so story made better by the all the other components. An entertaining movie.
