This is an excellent premised and plotted book, from the Black-American perspective as opposed to those Mr. Tibbs' books, although it reminds me, in a parallel manner, of an old Alan Nourse SF story. My criticism is the fanciful notions Mr. Greenlee had of white society [e.g., suggesting if a white student had exhibited similar traits, he would have been targeted for special treatment, focused on, et cetera, clearly absurd in America's educational system]. To heavy on the race filter, but to be expected from the time the author lived and worked. White privilege does and has existed, but it tends to strongly favor the richest and prep school students.
