Usually I don't really think of funny chick-lit books as five star material, but this book really deserves it. It is a quick read, but you can read it over and over again and NEVER get bored. It is hilarious. The cover makes the book seem a lot dirtier than it really is, so if you have any concerns about this book being super inappropriate, worry not! "Sex God" is simply the name Georgia gives to her mega-crush Robbie. You can read this if you are into any sort of comedy, going through a breakup, or just need any sort of cheering up. It will make your day better!
Are you having a miserable day? Does nothing seem to be going your way and not even a 16oz hot chocolate with double whip cream cheers you up? Read On the Bright Side, I'm Now the Girlfriend of a Sex God. The equally hilarious sequel to Louise Rennison's wonderful Angus, Thongs and Full Frontal Snogging, On the Bright Side [...] is just as funny as its predecessor. With plenty of missteps, miscommunication, and fashion faux pas (Cheetoh-orange legs. Need I say more?), if you're not laughing after thirty pages of On the Bright Side I'm not sure what will cheer you up.
I won't go into plot details. This is no deep, complicated classic; On the Bright Side is the literary equivalent of buttered popcorn: insubstantial and maybe not too good for you, but unbelievably fun. Now, crack the book open and feel your bad mood slide away amidst lots of snogging, slang, and dressed-up cats.
The sequal follows Georgia from her summer hols where the Angus, thongs, and full frontal snogging left off. As the title implies she has scored herself a sex god (aka Robbie), but everything else in her life is total crap. Her mother wants to relocate her to the other side of the world to be with dear vatti, the old portly one (aka dad) just as her love life is starting to turn around! She may just go through snogging withdrawl!
As with the first installment there is another glossary in the back just incase you Americans can't understand a word she says. Unlike most sequals it actually lives up the the legacy that is Georgia Nicholson and is just as packed with laugh-out-loud hilarity in the form of teenage angst and utter cluelessness.
I can't wait to read Knocked out by my nunga nungas!
