The author discusses her conviction, strengthened by long experience in public life, that children's development and their prospects for success are entwined with the society in which they live and how well it sustains and supports its families and individuals. Senator Clinton's new introduction reflects on how our "village" has changed over a decade, issues of increasing concern such as security, the environment, and the national debt, and where we have made progress and where work remains to be done.

As we have seen very recently, a community coming together to help and share the burden is a truly powerful thing!

The Children’s Library and Learning Center located in Little Rock, AR was named in honor of Hillary Rodham Clinton to acknowledge the work she did as a citizen of Arkansas especially for her services to children. This book is also available on audiobook, eBook, and downloadable audiobook.
